Project Description:
The homeowners’, beautiful 18-yr. old home located in the Atlanta Country Club featured grand styling; but, the eat-in breakfast area off of the kitchen was quite small, and the boxy Family Room adjacent to the kitchen area felt dark and cramped. The homeowners’ needed an enlarged family eating and sitting area that would allow for both elegant and casual entertaining. We constructed a new, Breakfast Addition and an arched, columned entryway into the Family Room. The wall separating the Family Room and Breakfast area was removed and replaced with a wide, new, arched entryway and custom, job-built columns. The new addition and Family Room were painted in a warm gold to complement the neutral wall color in the Kitchen and to further enhance the ample natural light. The new addition provided dramatic results! The eating area is now more than adequate and allows plenty of space between Kitchen, eating area, and Family Room. New decks were constructed off of the new addition, as well as directly above (off of the Master Suite) and below the addition. The new exterior elevation dramatically enhances the inviting appeal of backyard. |
